Also I notie lots have wider screen shots, can linux do the two monitor thing? thats cool, I seen it on Mac and Windows. I may get that too, but I ony have room for one monitor

Screen1 - a quick search shows genroms is a program to generate rom files, I have no idea if that is what it is in the screenshot.
Screen2 - thats just a feature when using XGL. I used it for awhile, looks cool but I'm not sure how useful it is.
Screen3 - Depends on the desktop environment or window manager. Right click on the title bar and look for an option that says 'shade' or 'roll up'
You can have dual monitors in linux as long as your graphics card can handle it.

screenshot 2 is the beryl cube effect, look up AIGLX XGL or beryl with google
