[SOLVED] Gnome and KDE settings clash
For the first time in three years I decided to give GNOME a shot. I am using gnome 2.18 and KDE 3.5 on Fedora Core 6. The problems I face are:
1. Gnome Desktop shows System and Trash icons for both KDE and Gnome. How do I get rid of this?
2. Since I first used Gnome my KDE menu has messed up. I had made certain customizations to it and now it looks exacltly like the Gnome Applications menu. All the KDE specific apps are missing. I know how to get them back but everytime I log onto Gnome KDE menu vanishes. Meanwhile nothing happens to Gnome menu.
Any help would be deeply appreaciated.

I don't know about the menu, but you will get conflicts (nothing major, just extra desktop icons) if they share the same desktop folder. In FC5, I use KDE and GNOME, so I created a .kde folder in ~/Desktop, then set KDE to use that as the desktop path (you can set that in the KDE control center, near the end of the options list on the left, I think).
