compiz and burn

I just got xgl/compiz running and I installed the animation plugin. I want to activate the burn plugin so I went into gconf and checked the boxes for it, but nothing happens.. Is there a keyboard shortcut to activate it?? Thanks..

ps. I am running KDE

Well after fixing this I sure did learn alot.. I did alot of experimenting and crashed the desktop several times, all I could get was the black screen with "login". It said xserver failed, so I typed " startx" and it started KDE back up. whew!! I still had many problems getting xorg back running!! I believe it was this
( In a terminal type " gnome-xgl-switch --disable-xgl " and reboot.)
that did it finally. I am using KDE and still worked..

I uninstalled XGL, Compiz and reinstalled just as before and it worked just fine but there was no way to add the plugin I wanted. So I downloaded Beryl since it has the stuff I wanted built in. CRASH!

this is how I got it to work.

I have an Asus A8V MB, AMD 3700, nvidia 7600gt, SuSE 10.2

go to yast and do a system update. (May take awhile)

went to yast and did a search for xgl, this gave me 3 choices. XGL, xgl-hardware-list, opensuse-xgl-settings. to get beryl to work I had to "NOT" install opensuse-xgl-settings. Beryl has its own manager and I think they conflict with one another.

Then I searched for compiz and installed just compiz.

then searched for beryl and installed " aquamarine, beryl-core, beryl-manager, beryl-plugins, beryl-settings, emerald, emerald-themes.

Now that the hard stuff is done, just go into yast, on the left you should see about the 3rd selection down is "system", click it and you will see a new box come up to the right. the top selection is " /etc/sysconfigEditor", click it, then on the left you will see (+DESKTOP) click the +. Now scroll till you see (+DisplayManager) click +.. Now find ( DisplayManager_Xserver). When you click it you will get a new window. you will see (XORG). click the drop down and select (XGL). "Apply" and "OK", it will give you a dialogue box, just ok it and exit yast.

Now bring up a Term window and log in as SU. at the command prompt type " beryl-manager " (without the " ) you should now have a new icon in your system tray. Close out the term window and right click the new icon. In the popup window select "Select Windows Manager", this will give you a selection of different managers, CHOOSE BERYL....

I don't know if you have to, but, I completely rebooted my machine and when it came up, beryl was working..

It took me several tries to get it working, This isn't for someone that has no experience with SuSE and I don't know if it will work on your machine. Follow this at your own risk.
A few times during this process I crashed my window manager.
