    Displying "My Computer"



    I want to place an icon like My Computer in Windows on my desktop of KDE under fc 6. How can i do that?

    You can do the following,
    1. Right click on an empty space on your desktop
    2. Select "Create New" -> Link to Location (URL)
    3. In the dialogue box that pops up, enter a name for the shortcut e.g. "my computer" and for the url enter "devices:/" or "media:/"
    Its not really the same as the windows "my computer", but its close. If you want to change the icon of the link, right click on it -> properties, click on the icon and select a new one.
