XFree86 Crash?
I have Slackware Linux 9.1 on a crappy crap computer. It has 16 megs of physical RAM and an 8 meg video card. (ATI Rage) It is supported, still. I have nothing wrong with my swap or anything.
I typed XFree86 -configure
and it went through that. And then as it says in the HOWTOs that came with my installation... I typed:
startx
well it starts ok, but there is a problem after it boots Xwindows, I get to a somewhat loading screen and a window appears that says "an error has occured...crashed" "please contact SOANDSO@blah.org about this error"
its not the server problem that most people get, I really just have no clue what it is... please help!
Thank you,
The Insomniac

Does /var/log/XFree86.0.log mention anything interesting? Could you also post the last lines of that file here?
Good luck
