Remove default icons from gnome desktop
How can i remove the "computer" "home" floppy disk" and "trash" icons from my desktop. I cannot seem to delete them in any of the ways ive tried, ie i downloaded a little program which was supposed to let me remove them but it did not work.
Is there any way to remove these icons?It is forbidden to kill; therefore all murderers are punished unless they kill in large numbers and to the sound of trumpets.

Yes, you can do it using gconf-editor, which you can launch from the terminal.
