Hi All

On my Debian System I am experiencing this erratic terminal behaviour. Some of the special characters such as double quotes ("), single quote (') are not rendered properly. So when the output should be Programmer's I see Programmerâs.

linux
I have tried in my bashrc

export TERM=xterm
too. But this did not help. Any suggestions?
P.S:- This happens in gnome-terminal, konsole, aterm (xterm) and the ttys too.
