Where to find desktop customisations?
Recently I have been browsing sites like kdelook.org and gnomelook.org etc, and I notice some desktop additions that do various things like display system stats, show weather forecasts and display clocks. Here is an example.
Can anyone tell me where I can find packages to do this kind of thing please? They are a little less functional and more frivolous than I generally go in for, but they add to the "wow factor" when a Windows user sees my Linux box.

Look around for applications like gdesklets, adesklets, conky, and gkrellm.
KDE now comes with superkaramba, which also adds eyecandy to the desktop.
Of course, compiz and beryl add additional eyecandy.oz

Thanks for that! Adesklets looks good, although I think I'll try karamba first. I have now seen the karamba section in kdelook, so it was under my nose all this time!
