Hi and Welcome !
which distro do you have?
you must have root privileges to execute fdisk command.
gain root privileges using 'su -' or sudo.It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.

it depends on which Linux distro you have. Fedora ( core 1 -6 ) doesn't support NTFS and you have to install kmod-ntfs or ntfs-3g. Fedora 7 supports NTFS read/write out of box,
It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.
