I recently downloaded a tarabll for Gnome theme and when I untar/unzip it, I get a directory with a bunch of .png files and one .gtkrc file. Can anyone tell me what I need to do make this work in Gnome2?

OK, I was able to install it using the gnome theme preference but I only get the options for the "control" tab. Upon further research, I found out that the tar ball doesn't have a metacity subdirectory. It only has gtk and gtk-2.0.
Some other tarballs have the metacity subdirectory. When it does, it give me options to choose for the "Window Border." Any ideas?
go to Configuration>Gnome>theme
there choose add a new theme and browse for the tar.gz /gz2 file. It will insta;ll the new theme for the Genome.
Choose that Theme and bingo ;)
