Slackware Window Maker Problem

I'm having problems getting slackware to change its rez. I have edited the VertRefresh in my xorg.conf file and run xorgconfig, but the refresh rate stays the same. when i edit my VertRefresh my rez is chopped down to 800x600 and wont return. I cant figgure out what i'm doing wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated

make sure your horizontal sync range is set correctly, as well as vertical refresh. do you have the desired resolution set in xorg.conf?
