[SOLVED] Sparkling colours in (K)Ubuntu
I've just recieved an old laptop that I have fixed and installed Kubuntu 8.04 on. Just about everything is working as it should but some colours sparkle.
The graphic card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 7000 and I'm using the default ATI driver that comes with Ubuntu as there doesn't seem to be any other available, from ATI or otherwise, that I could find.
The colours that tend to sparkle the most are the blue on the default Kubuntu desktop back ground, a horizontal strip along the brown background of the Ubuntu forums and skin (people faces, arms, etc on photos)
The sparkling looks like the colour of a pixle can't be displayed so it's flashing between to random colours. It's not every pixle on a picture, but the effected ones tend to group together.
Anyone got any idea on what is causing this? Is it just the graphics card is too old and doesn't support enough colours?
