I don't know about KDE, but in GNOME there are acceleration settings and stuff like that. If all else fails, use "xset".
its not accelleration thats a problem its just that when i move the mouse slower. it doesnt move and when it finally does move it goes too fast..and it makes it verry hard to navigate(sorry for the late reply)
Are you sure that it isn't a problem with your mouse, eg. that it glides over the mouse mat at low speeds?
well i know it has something to do with how it reads the signals from the mouse. because my other mouse(track ball) doesnt do this. but this mouse works perfect in Windows. and its odd because when you move the mouse really slowly you can move it from one side of the mouse pad to the other and the mouse cursor wont budge. so at low speeds i guess it doesnt read at all or something. im stumped.
That's a bit strange. The mouse protocols are pretty standardized, so such a thing shouldn't happen. What kind of mouse is it?
GE optical mouse. 2 button and a scroll.
USB or PS/2?
PS/2
Check the Mouse InputDevice Section in your /etc/X11/XF86Config and verify that the protocol is IMPS/2.
