I believe it does. Install the package xmms-cdread.

I will not taint my system by installing a package, but I did find the source for the cdread plugin, thanks for telling me that's what I needed.
Just so you know, you cannot mount an audio CD, instead you need to make sure that your media player has the proper plugin, also check that your pointing to the correct device, and if your still having problems, you can try bypassing the symlink alltogether.(ie point to the device like /dev/ide/002.1 or god knows, it varies from machine to machine.)
Yes I know this. I also noticed I have a cd player plugin already, but it still doesn't seem to be working. I still haven't installed the cdread plugin, maybe that will solve it. If not it doesn't really matter, I could use a different cd player, I would just rather use xmms.
