    FTPS problem

    I am setting up FTP over ssl on a Freenas server. I have allowed local users to login, however I cannot login as a local user on another machine (I get error 530 - invalid login). When I enable root access I can login. The local user I am trying to login as is a member of the ftp group.

    Can someone please offer some advice. The freenas forums seem to be really slow for me so that is why I am posting here.

    Inside of your vsftpd.conf file of the receiving server.
    make sure the following are set
    force_local_data_ssl=NO
    force_local_logins_ssl=NO

    Also, make sure the the line "chroot_list_enable=YES" is commented out, otherwise your user list is actually preventing the user from performing the transfer.
