Bsd question

BSD.........kinda sounds like a drug.

Anyway I was wondering what every BSD is used for. Or which one you might consider the best.

Generally,

FreeBSD = performance
OpenBSD = security
NetBSD = portability

Those are extreme generalizations though. FreeBSD is probably the best for a BSD newbie. But go to each of the BSDs website to learn more. Just <name of BSD>.org

And yes, BSD is a drug

FreeBSD, OpenBSD, NetBSD - already explained
BSD/OS - assume you mean BSDi, which costs like $800 - "the redhat of the BSDs". you prolly don't want that
DragonflyBSD - a fork from FreeBSD 4.x, still in heavy development
Freesbie - live CD

...and I don't feel like explaining the rest. Go to their websites.

Most people just use F, O, or NBSD though. Only crazy people use the other ones.
