    hey ... i found jdk1.4 in the ports

    what is the best way to insall the JDK on my new freeBSD box ...

    do i have to use the ports .. isnt there any ready made packages


    isnt jdk 5 avail ?

    Java support on FreeBSD is getting better and better, same with NetBSD (emulates linux much better due to having the compat layer intergrated into the kernel), which uses emulation instead of a native binary (patched).
