For what it's woth, I use Partition Commander to resize my Win XP drive into two, half for Debian and other half for FreeBSD. And it works just fine....

    I haven't done this but you could try gtparted from knoppix livecd. Boot to knoppix and mount you hard drive and use gtparted. It may work.
