kde download/ Solved
I am testing Freebsd 6.0 for the first time.
my question is I want to make kde my desktop, but when I went to download it there were several files. Should I take them all or is the desktop just one and the rest are depend files for addons. And when I go to load them should I do it during the install process or after instal is complete.
any help would appreciated

Follow up I downloaded what I think are the files just for the desktop without any dependencies. I installed freebsd 6.0, but I didn’t see anywhere to load additional software. The handbook says to load your choice of desktops during installation, but does not say at what point to do so. Can someone point in the right direction.
Any help would be appreciated

Problem solved
with a little/lot of research i found a document that helped explain a great deal of things especailly the editing commands and some of the directory structure and configuring files.
