I've been using OpenBSD for some time and it is quite simple. Ports works just as in FreeBSD (almost at least...) and the packages are incredibly stable.
bwhsh8r> I do not know what you mean by that the kernel is old. You are always able to get with CVS or take the latest release version of the kernel and patch it. OpenBSD releases a new version of the OS every 6 months and with it ofcourse the latest kernel functions.
If you meant that it was based on a old kernel (4.4BSD) it resembles it as much as the Linux kernel resembles Minix.
