losing my connections on reboot?
After struggling to get my Freebsd 6.1 up and running, Trying to get my favorite multimedia and getting upgrade, I'm having problems once more. Each time I shut down or reboot, I lose my settings, I have to reset DHCP and reset printing. I'd like to know if it's something I'm doing or haven't done? What should my /etc/rc.conf look like? When I set up my hostname it gets screwed up by adding it twice (fvs.cable.rcn.com) and when I setup ifconfig_re0="DHCP" the next time after rebooting and I lookinto the file I find it's unquoted (ifconfig_re0=dhcp), How would it change when I know I saved it in vi editor with wq? BTW I have reinstalled 6.1 twice.
All help will be appreciated. Thanks
