Talking Build small server

Hi, everyone. nice to meet you again.
By the way, Could anyone know how to build small server on my own computer?!
I want to build in on Freebsd 6.0 OS.

Why 6.0? As of this writing, the latest in the -RELEASE branch is 6.2. I'd suggest going with that: http://www.freebsd.org/where.html

You might want to review the hardware notes for i386 systems (or for your appropriate architecture if not i386).

Keep the Handbook and the FAQ close by -- both are great resources.

Also, the best beginner-to-intermediate level book I've read on FreeBSD is FreeBSD 6 Unleashed by Brian Tiemann. If you can afford to pick up a copy, you'll be glad you did.

First of all, I would recommend you to determine what you want to run on your machine, which servers. Then, follow anomie's suggestions.

I would also recommend "The Complete FreeBSD" from Greg Lehey. That one proved to be useful for me when I began.
