I am using the Redhat Cluster Suite (luci and ricci) on my centos 5.4. i have 2 nodes in a cluster.
I had clustered an apache server.
The service is up end running and i can stop, start and switch on all two node.
The problem is when i try to simulate a fault for one node.
For example:

The apache resource stay on the first cluster node.

If i power off the first cluster node (not halt or init 0 but take off the eletric power off), the second cluster node not take the resource.
With the clustat command, the service still running on the first node. But the service is down. The first node is dead.
Only one the first node is join again the cluster the resource goes up on the second node.

Is it normaly ??

For me this it is a big problem

Best Regards

Hello Linux Community!

First of all, I want to let everyone know that I've been a long-time lurker and have found this site among other very helpful in fully migrating to Fedora from Windows a couple years ago. I am currently running Fedora 10 and enjoy every minute of it.

Anyway, I have kind of unique project I'm working on. I receive work assignments via email and require me to click a link in the email to accept the assignment. More often than not, the assignment is awarded on a first-guy-to-click-it basis.

My idea is to set up a Gmail IMAP account and have a IMAP client which supports the idle protocol running on my machine, probably in a terminal. Idle support is necessary so that I receive the message immediately upon arrival to the server. Those using push email on their iPhone or Palm Pre are familiar with this concept.

When the email comes in, I have a script or something parse the email, find the URL, and wget the URL so that it is accepted. No need to actually open firefox or opera. Once accepted, they send another email to confirm the assignment was accepted.

I've made some progress, but thought the brilliant minds on this forum could help me further. I've discovered only one linux IMAP client which supports the IDLE protocol. I've tested it and emails come in immediately, sometimes even faster than they appear on the Gmail web browser login screen. The client is called "cone". The files are located in ~/.cone/. My problem is that when a message comes in, a .cache file changes to reflect the "list" of emails, but the actual email's headers are not actually downloaded until I hit Enter within the terminal running cone to download the message. I need to find a way to download the whole message immediately when it's received, then find the URL, then hit that URL with the wget command. When the message is opened, an additional file called 1.tmp is created in this folder containing the whole message.

Anyone have any ideas to help with this project?

Hi everybody,

I reinstalled my gateway yesterday and it seems like named is causing issues that it did not do before on other versions. I am running named on the external interface to advertise the domains I'm hosting and on the internal and local interface as a caching server.

The named.conf file follows:
I want to add and give the group server admin write permissions to folder /logs
I must add that I don't want to remove any of the current permission on the folder/directory.
And I wish not to have to go with Nvidia's driver because it has it's own settings that take over the os's, and it's proprietary.

I am configuring OpenVPN to act as a SSL tunnel for a remote location. I have OpenVPN1 at our current location acting as a server then OpenVPN2 at the other location that is acting as a client but is also acting as a DHCP server to machines behind it so they are basically connected to the local LAN. Everything is set up fine and I can talk from location A to location B with no problems like everyone is local. I am however having some performance issues. OpenVPN1 CPU is pegged to 100% the entire time I am copying or doing any type of activity through the tunnel. I expect some CPU usage going up but nothing like this. It's really killing my performance. OpenVPN1 is running in ESX right now with 2 gig RAM and 2 procs with unlimited bursting capacity. I am using AES-192 encryption with a 1024 key and udp as the protocol without compression. I have also tried with compression and it didn't make any different. Any idea how I can get my CPU down on OpenVPN1 and my download/upload speeds higher between the tunnel? Thanks.
