Hi All -

While installing Firefox on Kubuntu 9.10 using the (questionable) Firefox Installer, a problem occurred, and the install aborted. When i tried to install again later, I was informed that Firefox was already installed, and the app shut down. Oh well - so much for the strange installer, i thought.

I installed Firefox using the new package updater (and Adept was ditched because ?) and all went well, if a little clunky, but i noticed the Installer is still there, and seems to be stuck there. I believe the idea was that the un-install of the installer would be automatic upon FF installation so the user wouldn't have to worry about it. Therefore - no way to uninstall it.

Anyone solve this? Kind of a hastle having the unused software gumming up the works.

Thanks

I would like to change the default icons for all of my AVI and MPG files to a specific icon, but I don't know how. I would rather not have to change every icon individually, instead I would like to know if there is a function that allows you to simply change all video file icons at once.

I realize you can change certain icons by right clicking the file and clicking on the little Icon Button in the Properties menu, but it doesn't seem to work for changing icons for all of the specific file types.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

Hello, i have a few questions and would be grateful for any help.

I just put ubuntu 9.10 on a 4 gb flash drive and it boots and runs fine, i also have a 16gb sandisk micro and i am using it as a hardrive with the 4gb as a boot disk.
My questions were; Is there any way i can change all the settings for everything to use the 16gb as the hard driv and dont touch the 4gb unless updating the software or operating system that is contained by it.

Also there's something called the U3 launchpad installed on my 16gb sandisk micro and no matter how many time si delete it, it just keps coming back.

I formatted it a couple times but it did nothing.
i think its a CDROM partition

also does anyone know of a way to get windows xp on a flash driv elike i did the ubuntu. I googled and it was only for >2gb flash dives because of FAT and FAT16 compatibility.

any help would be appreciated thanks!
