I spent the weekend installing this card and trying to get it up and running. The usual tripping over old outdated webpages. I tried madwifi which kind of worked. I saw a local AP I put on test. I really want to run this card as an AP though.

I have removed madwifi after seeing more webpages mention ath9k, which seems to be the driver that is now being selected. Much hair lose and a headache brings me here! I just need to know if it is working and where I go from here to get into into master mode for use as an AP please?

Hi, I just got Seamonkey going on my Dell Latitude, but I haven't been able to get it to recognize my modum (Wifi card). I've tried tried everything on the connect wizard except for loading all the drivers in the "Specify" section. I thought there might be thousands. I'm using a Belkin N card and have the driver for it, but I'm not sure it will work with Linux, and I don't know how to get Linux to find it anyway. I'm booting off the CD, but have created a partition for the Linux files. I looked at Waterheads post, at the top of the Wifi posts, about how to find out the cards specifications, but I wasn't sure what he meant about typing the text into a "terminal". Would that be in Linux or Windows, and what program? As you may have noticed, I'm quite a novice at Linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you much.

I have a wired and wireless both network interfaces active on my laptop.
Wired network is connected to LAN and Wireless is connected to DLinq adapter.
Some times i like to use LAN and some times I want to use wireless. But whenever I want to change from wired to wireless and vice-versa I have to update the default route each time.

Is there any option where i don't have to change this setting each time and OS takes care of this automatically.

I am trying to install the drivers for my wireless card on Ubuntu but I cannot find any drivers for my card for Linux.

I have the WG311v3.

I have tried to use NDISwrapper (I used a flash drive to transport) so I could get the drivers for my wireless card but it just gets errors.

Then I tried to refresh my package cache by typing "sudo apt-get update" but I get a long list of errors with URLs in them.

So finally i tried using ndisgtk butI get this:

"Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: ndiswrapper-utils-1.9".

I have run out of ideas!

Please help!

Hello, first time post here. In fact, first time Linux user too, i am impressed so far, but have a problem with the wireless (Atheros AR5BXB63) on Acer Aspire One using Ubuntu (i have tried both 9.04 and 9.10). After clean install the wireless works fine (connecting to Ruckus wireless AP's using WPA), but after using it for an hour or so i have no wireless networks available, it just seems to drop off. Though the settings are still there in "Edit Connections".

As i say i am new to Linux so any help with this would be great... not sure where to start looking...

Thanks

While having trouble connecting to the internet from Ubuntu installed on a logical partition(The usual driver problem).

Thought maybe if someone could explain, or just lead me in the right direction, I could get the adapter working on Ubuntu installed on the partition.
