Have you got any more details on that? Are they coming from this domain or have you tracked it back to the servers? Any information you can give would be a great help.

They weren't spamming you... they were spamming the forums.
You've subscribed to certain threads somewhere along the way and the system is telling you that someone has replied to that thread.
You can unsubscribe to threads in your Control Panel. I think you can use the Thread Tools link at the top of the thread in question to unsubscribe as well.
Edit: I should add that the spam post has already been deleted out of the thread in question, but the system sends the post to you as soon as it's made since you are subscribed to that thread. Hope that makes sense.Last edited by oz; 06-29-2008 at 11:22 PM.

Oops, they did it again
I was spammed again, this time I got some Chinese message, again from the Linux forums, right from this thread. Off course again, there's no trace of spamming thread. Core, where are you! Linuxforums seems to be infected! I'll have to disable mails from the forums, if this continues!

This is something that happens every now and again. I don't think it's a major problem, but if it starts getting bad maybe you could set your preferences to just email you at the end of the day about any replies to subscribed threads (instead of emailing you as soon as someone replies)? This should (I think) stop most spam getting through, and means you wouldn't have to disable the mail.

We almost always catch spam within 5 minutes of it being posted. smolloy's idea is pretty good...if you got the daily update you shouldn't get these spam messages. I can see that post you refer to above your last one...devils_casper was on the ball this time and got rid of it straight away.

Once again... you can change this behavior in your user control panel. The Thread Subscription feature currently gives the following options:
According to your user profile, you are currently setup for the Instant Email Notification option, so that's what you are getting. If you don't want to receive emails notices regarding new posts (which would also include any spam posted) to threads that you've posted in, you'll need to choose one of the other options above. Only the specific user and the full board administrators have the permissions needed to change these options. None of the Moderators can change them for you the way the board is currently setup.Automatic Thread Subscription Mode
