I know that you have been keeping yourself very busy J, but i noticed a feature on some other forums that i have found very handy (especialy when im on a slower connection ie my pda) a quick reply box at the bottom of each thread, This is not a feature integrated into phpbb, but it might be a nice little touch. perhaps a forum member who likes the idea will even write the php for it..... But what does everyone else think?

Unfortunatly this encourages one or 2 word answers, which in most cases are never very helpful..

This would be a nice feature but its only available as a hack and i dont if it is available i have seen one phpbb forum that had it but it looked bad and was poorly writen i think. Is phpbb 2.2 goin to have the feature in it. not sure if it will.

I know two forums who got this quick reply feature, big_k's and board.flatassembler.net (phpBB forum) - the as long as there is a send _and_ a preview button think it's a nice idea, I often start my replies in it and then hit preview to review my own post before submitting it.

- 08-25-2004 #7I'm with jason on this one. I get rather annoyed at sites that offer "quick" posting such as OSNews and Slashdot. It seems to just feed the trolls. And we all know it's not a good idea to feed trolls. Particularly if you don't have your +1 mace handy.

Yeh agree with J I seem to remember this being disscused over at SFDC and there where some good reasons not to, Like it encoreges lame responses like 'i dont know' etc..
