    Also a nice bonus is when you you are browsing the forum on a slower connection (gsm data variant personaly) then it can be annoying to open post only to find them solved, sometime i would like to offer a quick and simple advice. But i could also see it becoming a bit too much like a tech support site, one of the greatest strenghts of this community is the community feel of it, its very friendly and personable, and encourages participation.

    if someone is willing to write the code, you could have it set up so that only the author could set the topic as resolved. but then hardly anyone would do it so that would defeat the point.
