New owners email
Hi.
I just received an email that begins:
Is this true?LinuxForums Newsletter - November 2008
Welcome to the new LinuxForums Newsletter
That's right, you heard it. Linuxforums.org is now running under new owners. They love Linux just
as much as we do and they want to help our community. We've got a ton of new features we're
implementing and new site improvements.
...
email is from: "Linuxforums" <sales@masmedianet.com>
If so, why not post the update in the announcements forum?
If not, perhaps a warning might be useful here.
If true, there are a number of links that are incorrect in the email body ... cheers, drlWelcome - get the most out of the forum by reading forum basics and guidelines: click here.

It is true drl, we have new owners and they seem to be very actively implementing new features, such as the newsletter you have. I think an announcement for the forums is a great idea.
Thanks for bring this to our attention.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.
All new users please read this. and the Forum FAQS.
- 11-27-2008 #3I have checked newsletter and couldn't find any incorrect link. Could you please post a few? May be I missed some.

Hi.
The "free magazine" link is identical to the one above it -- the jobs link ... cheers, drlWelcome - get the most out of the forum by reading forum basics and guidelines: click here.

Hi.
Along this same line, I have no idea who sales@masmedianet.com is. More to the point, neither do my email filters.
I was skimming the 700+ trapped emails from the past few days, and only by chance did I notice that email. I would have thought it would be far better to come from linuxforums.org.
One wonders how many of those emails have ended up in the trash can of the spam filters ... cheers, drlWelcome - get the most out of the forum by reading forum basics and guidelines: click here.
