UserCP option to receive email as NON-HTML

I received email a few hours ago from Linux Forums eNews that is formatted in HTML. I really dislike HTML email. It seems reasonable that there should be a UserCP option to select a preferred format.

In any case all HTML email should be sent in multi-part format so people using appropriate software will display HTML, while those of us who prefer text-based readers will see the text.
