Not sure what you'll make of this idea, but I wondered how you would feel about inviting 'famous' people from the free software and open source world(s) to post to this forum.
Maybe not Linus Torvalds (though why not? he might agree). Perhaps you could just ask them to write about a topic of their choice, and then we could all respond.

I think that would be pretty freakin cool, and would veyr quickly become a hot topic and recieve many follow up posts. As far as the plan though, would they be checking in on it for a while answering questions and such. If that's they case you would have to have the mods watching also to delete stupid questions. I would definately like to see it though!
- 05-19-2005 #3It's possible that a thread could be started where people could post questions they'd like answered to said famous person, then a moderator would sift through and pick the top 10 or so, send them to the person, and post their response. Slashdot does this on occasion. **
