The new posts feature is acting really weird. Even when I read a forum and go back to the index it still says there is new posts, when I go back to the forum to see, well, there is no new posts?

Are you clicking the back button in your browser or the new posts button in the navigation bar? When I click the button on the navigation bar, it works fine.

afaik hitting the back button will usually read the browsers cached verion of the page, and not reread it from the server (unless the pages headers include some no-cache pragma - at least that's my understanding of it). So it makes sense.
