Just set up an account today, but I'd also set up an account a few months back. My old account seems to have no record available... do user accounts get deleted after X days of inactivity?

they never were in the past...... check http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/members/user_name.html to see if it is still there

No, they don't... perhaps you are mistaken about it being this forum where you signed up, or you were trying to login with the wrong username.
