Auto-correction, meaning if you misspell a word, it will be corrected for you?
To me this sounds like a bad idea.
Certain words like "dvd" and "cd" will be auto-corrected to ???.
Where I don't want that corrected.
Not sure what you mean by "text highlighting".How to know if you are a geek.
when you respond to "get a life!" with "what's the URL?"

When typing my messages on these boards i automatically have a spell checker, i think it either came with the new firefox or its an extention i downloaded a long time ago.
It doesnt auto correct but it does underline incorrect spelling and when you right click it offers the correct spelling.
So i see no need for a spell checker.

Yes KDEs browser (konqueror) underlines "incorrect" words, but I am a firefox user.
About second suggestion:
Ha, its stupid. So just get lost.

Yes, it's the latest Firefox that automatically underlines misspelled words. No extension is needed.

Yeah the latest version of FF is too good with a lot of add-ons which you can install and I found some of them to be really helpful for daily surfing.
