Can I use the Atom feeds in my bookmarks toolbar in firefox?

Is it possible to use the live feeds in Firefox without an extension?

I know that you can use the RSS feed, but I'm sure you can use an Atom feed as well:
1)Click on Bookmarks
2)Manage Bookmarks
3)File | New Live Bookmark
