I was thinking about creating a sticky for noobs about configuring xorg.conf.
I have often help a lot of them to get the resolution they want or to get a basic working driver to start x and I think we have enough of these posts and it would be better for all to have a sticky.

i agree. i could probably still use something like that to this day. ;)
If just an admin may read this ... I think the sticky is really needed
As do i. Maybe if you wrote one up they'd make it a sticky. If you write it up make a post linking here. i don't think i'd be able to write one. i don't know a lot about the xorg.conf. just enough to get me by. i edit it how i need then i leave it alone so as not to mess myself up. i do it a lot.:rolleyes:
I was discouraged about writing it because i have a good english but it is not perfect in any way. Maybe I'll give it a try and show it to my english teacher before posting.
I say go for it. We'll be happy to help you with any problems you may have.
And we are always interested in getting new howtos and tutorials. :)

Just on the English side of things, try changing "warranty" to "guarantee." Not a big deal, I know you said you might need help on the English.Quote:
