I wish they'd bring it back. We don't all use Firefox or Chrome, you know. I use Links because of its speed (it's positively painful for me now to use Firefox) and it doesn't do Javascript, so I don't have this new navigation button.
Please be a bit more user-friendly!
Thanks for your feedback, Hazel. Your input is valuable to us. As noted previously, you can use the contact us link to get directly to those in charge of such things.
I'm unable to say if the forum navigation tool that resided in the left sidebar will be brought back, or not. The left sidebar has been fully disabled at least temporarily, and the right sidebar is disabled at least temporarily for those forum members that are logged in. Members and visitors that are not logged in will see the right sidebar on most forum pages. As noted above by others already, any concerns about the forum layout can be directed to those that handle that part of the website by using the Contact Us link found in the lower-right corner of this page and others on the site.
