External Sound Card (FireWire)

Hello,
I've got an external sound card: Phonic FireFly 302
and I'm wondering if I can play it out-of-the-box with
mandriva 2008.1 Spring?

(I need to be sure about this because I don't want to install it and realize after a while that I have no sound)

It doesn't seem to be listed in the supported cards section, but that doesn't mean it won't work. Basically it's worth a try is what our friend here is saying. If you get a livedisc for any recent distro you will be able to see if it works without doing a full install.
