Some games won't run on Linux but you might be able to run them under WINE or Cedega. Otherwise, you can setup a dual-boot system if you wish to run both Linux and Windows.

You might want to check out this Distro, made just for gaming. But it is a LiveCD/DVD so that means it's probably not a good idea to install it to the HD. It seems to have most of the major games for Linux pre-installed. I might have to download this myself just to check it out. live.linux-gamers.net
