wmv with vlc

Hello,

Sometimes I have a problem when I read wmv files with vlc : I can only play from 00:00 to the end. I can not jump to for example the 10th minute.
I dont have this problem when I do it with windows media player on my virtual machine. I would like to play my wmv on linux, what soft ware could I use if vlc doesnt work correctly ?

I use vlc 1.0.1 on fedora 11

You have to install the codec, to install w32codec using YUM,
Follow this GUIDE

then execute "yum install w32codec" after you add the repository in yum setup.
