GIMP to GIF format

I have a series of gimp frame files I want to convert to a gif anim..
is there a way to do this in Gimp (other than gimp 2.0). Is there an easy way to do this?

thanks! However, its not evident if the tutorial was intended for versions prior to 2.0. I'd like to upgrade; but will gimp2.0 work on an old pentium2 running mandrake10.0 with KDE3.2??

I don't see why it would'n work, your comp is powerful enough to run kde so it should run nte GIMP fine.

Solved: For converting image files to a gif anim I had to optimize the gimp anim then index the colors before doing the 'save as' to gif format. Works fine with Gimp1.2

Thanks for the tip to upgrade to Gimp 2.0

I hope you like it, I've found it much better than the 1.* series.
