I've never used wine myself, but I do know it doesn't work on all games. The best thing to do is try it see what happens.
Here's more info about it:

Hi maximan1 and welcome!

Transgaming is all about running Windows games under their special version of wine called "Cedega." Some games like Trespasser work almost perfectly while other won't work at all. Most fall everywhere in between. As you can see from this page, there is a huge demand for Halo being playable with Cedega under Linux, but it appears that it runs poorly if at all. Why not just play it under Windows?

Yeah, I agree with Dapper Dan. It's best to simply dual-boot and run all Windows apps under Windows where they run best. I'm not a fan of mixing Windows and Linux, but that's only my opinion. Good luck, and have fun with it whichever route you take.

I think yeah, actually
This vid shows a guy playing the TRIAL of halo with wine, so it seems to me its possible. I was wondering the same thing as you, so I'll let you know if it works (or you can let me know)
