You probably need to install win32 codecs. Setup the various main, contrib, plf and updates software repositorie for your version of Mandriva using the instructions at easyurpmi and then run the package manager, search for win32 and install the package when found.

    get VLC or MPLAYER

    as root do these

    Code:
    urpmi mplayer-gui
    urpmi mplayer-skins
    urpmi mplayer-fonts
    urpmi mplayerplugin

    Code:
    urpmi vlc

    Code:
    urpmi libdvdcss2
get's DVD playing support on Mandriva

    NOTE

To install many codecs , application you have to enable various extra repositories , these repositories are not activated by default in Mandriva linux. Get repositories list by visiting Easyurpmi
