I can't help you with racing or fighting games, but with First Person Shooters, you're in luck. Here's some off the top of my head that work natively in Linux:
Doom 1, 2, 3
Heretic
Hexen 1, 2 (hard to find)
Quake 1, 2, 3, 4
Unreal Tournament GOTY, 2003, 2004
Cube
Nexuiz
Enemy Territory
Return to Castle Wolfenstein
For the games made by id Software, you need the MS Windows retail CD/DVD, and a Linux installer found here. For UT2003/2004 the Linux installer is already on the disc. Cube, Nexuiz and Enemy Territory are free games downloadable from their respective websites.Registered Linux user #270181

Thanks. Far more than what I could imagine!
One more thing - I have visited americasarmy.com but they no doesn't seem to support linux anymore. Every available download I see there is for windows. Can I have a link to any download for the linux version?

I might have missed it, if it was mentioned but Unreal Tournement runs on Linux... I think there was actually a version for Linux.
Also, I saw that Cube was mentioned and that is one I have recently become addicted to. It's a First Person Shooter much like Unreal Tourney. There are dedicated servers online all the time which you can connect to from within the game.

Valemon, that's great! I've been looking for some turn based strategy games I can play in Linux... Wesnoth looks good.

Wesnoth is a lot of fun, but completing some of the campaigns is rock hard. It can only get better though, and is well supported.
One of my favourite cult games is Beneath a Steel Sky. It needs an emulator to run on Linux but it always makes me smile. The best version includes sound.I am always doing that which I can not do, in order that I may learn how to do it. - Pablo Picasso

Awesome Game...
Me too! I loved that game... One day, I did a search in the packages for "games" and the name caught my attention. When I read the description I had to play it. I beat it, it was very satisfying. I love old style games like that... I grew up playing Police Quest... the first one. I still play it now and then. I wish there were more games out there like that.
