    UT2004 update patch problems...

ok - I installed ut2004 and it worked great but to play online - I need to update to the latest official patch from the web.

    I installed ut2004 to /home/carlwill/ut2004

then I download the patch to /home/carlwill/

After I extract the patch , I see the folders and was told to just replace them with the identical ones in the ut2004 folder. I did so and now the game will no longer run. So obviously this is user error.

Is there a fix or should I just remove ut2004 and reinstall?

Is there a proper way to remove ut2004 from my linux fedora core 2?

Thank you so much for the info.

It would be quicker to just reinstall it

why don't you install the ut2004 Demo version 3334 ???
I have it running on RedHat 9, Gentoo kernel, and Mandrake 10.

The only game which does not run un my Gentoo box is Descent3 Loki edition, does anyone have any idea ??
