i810_audio problems - /dev/dsp busy/unavailable - not loadin
I've got a i810_audio that is not working.
I've done google and forum searches and I done everything I could find save
the kernel recompile to compile it into the kernel.
I've modprobe'd i810_audio.
I've put some lines in /etc/modules:
alias sound-slot-0 i810_audio
post-install sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 ||:
pre-remove sound-slot-0 /bin/aumix-minimal -f /etc/.aumixrc -L >/dev/null 2>&1 ||:
In my /var/log/messages I have this (snipped) message.

Jul 8 10:43:10 localhost kernel: i810_audio: AC'97 codec 2 supports AMAP, total channels = 6
When I load kde or gnome, it says /dev/dsp problem, redirecting to /dev/null.
I'm not sure how to get sound working.
I try to use xmms, and it fails with its message regarding sound card problems.
Help?
