SB Live Player 5.1 ... Sound quality
Hi all,
New to linux, new to Gentoo, bear with me here ...
I've installed Gentoo as per the handbook, installed Gnome as per the handbook, got my soundcard working now with Alsa and Emu10k1...
Only problem is, in Windows, the sound is perfect quality, nice amount of bass coming from the sub and sound from all 5 speakers, sounds very nice
In Gentoo unfortately it just sounds like they're cheap and nasty speakers with too much being fed to them? (Like factory installed car speakers with the bass up too high...)
There's sound coming from all speakers, including centre
Just wondered if anybody had the same problem with theirs? And could tell me which setting in alsamixer to change? Something to mute? Something to turn down or up?
All help greatly appreciated, of course
And anything more you need to know, give me a shout
Cheers
Jim

Sometime's it's the simplest thing isn't it?

Thanks very much!
There was no equaliser turned on, I turned it on, then turned it down a bit
Superb stuff
