Hello,
my problem is VOBSUB and its incompatibility with standalone DVD players which claim to support it (+DIVX). I have created VOBSUBs with mencoder and ProjectX and both create such VOBSUBs that when used in standalone player, no subtitles can be seen nor selected for viewing. If I replace the VOBSUB with one created in Windows (Gordian Knot tool chain), the subtitles can be seen in standalone player, but the font is bad. So, even if I just replace the VOBSUB, but keep the avi the same, created in Linux.

What do I miss here?

My box is an Athlon64 with 64-bit Linux, Fedora Core 8.
