    sound sound sound...

    Hi i use slackware 10 and i have 2 problems with multimedia.When i fix sound (via on board legasy card) with alsaconf alsamixer and alsactl store I store my mixer settings for my soundcard.But when i boot the settings were ok but when the display manager(gdm) loads the DXS channels in the mixer go to the botom and i have to again reconfigured it.
    Also when i play dvd's with xine as normal user i don't have sound and as root i have only if i put in the top the second VIA DXS channel.
    Any suggestions?

    I don't have any suggestions, unfortunately, but I would like to know how you solved problem fixing VIA? Which motherboard do you have? I have a Soltek, and can't do a thing to make it work. Thanx!
