playing music from windows partition
alright so now i have access to my windows partition. now, how do I play music found in my windows partition from linux. everytime i try to play anything rhythmbox tells me "failed to connect stream:invalid argument"

That doesn't sound like it's partition related. Have you tried copying some of the files over to your Linux partition and playing them from there? Have you successfully played anything through Rhythmbox to date?

thats what im trying to avoid because its a large amount of music. im talking over 40 gb and my hd doesnt have enough capacity to make that duplication....im gonna attempt to play music on my rhythmbox

yeah, at one point I got one of them to work but now none of my music players work. i tried it in amarok for instance and it told me "audio output unavailable:the device is busy"
